Moms, Dads, and Grandparents:

Are you looking to get your kids into reading?

Do they hate reading real books and want to spend all of their time playing video games and watching YouTube?

Give your kids my books. You won’t be disappointed.

I (Skeleton Steve) am a grown-up. In real life, I’m actually a professional, published author of science fiction, and I write and publish these Skeleton Steve books under a pseudonym to keep my kids’ books and adult books separate.

I have three little boys of my own, and I write as Skeleton Steve to not only entertain with strong stories that sweep readers up in emotions and tense action, but I also try to subtly instill strong personal values in young readers.

All of my Skeleton Steve books encourage:

  • Self-reliance
  • Friendship
  • Approaching problems rationally
  • Facing obstacles with bravery
  • Striving hard to accomplish your goals
  • Emotional resilience when things don’t go your way

It’s important to avoid being ‘preachy’ in kids’ fiction, otherwise, they won’t like it. Discussing values openly would bore them. So, all of my children’s novellas are written with concrete plots, good characters that kids (and teens) love, and values shown through action, dialogue, and lessons learned.

I’ve always said that my books are for ‘smart kids, teens, and nerdy adults’, and that’s true. My readers range from intelligent little boys and girls who are just getting into reading, to teens who love the character drama and adventure, all the way up to adults who just love a good story. Psst–gamer moms and dads? You might want to give these books a look, too. 😉 I basically consider my stories to be ‘epic fantasy adventure within a video game setting’.

Check out some of these parents’ reviews:

My son enjoyed this book very much. He has several Skeleton Steve books and loves them all. I am just happy he is reading and not playing video games. Great book for any Minecraft fan.
– Amazom Lily, from “Diary of an Enderman Ninja, Book 1

My son loves all of Skeleton Steve’s books! I have them all printed and put into binders. He likes to read them at night in bed. He loves the stories and the artwork. He’s 7, a gifted reader, but chapter books still intimidate him. Though I have 2 binders full of these stories, larger than any chapter book he would read, he pours over them again and again. Thank you!!
– Habblie, from “Diary of an Enderman Ninja, Book 1

My boys ages 6-11 all love this book!
– L Stoltzman, from “Diary of a Teenage Zombie Villager, Book 1

This is the third book by this author that my son ‘Ogmoe’ has read and Skeleton Steve is one of his favourite Minecraft writers. The plot is well written and engaging, and kept my son entertained as he read the adventure featuring Cth’ka and Worla the Witch. He loves the original artwork and laughed out loud in many places. Through books like this, my ten-year-old has learned to love reading and now reads for pleasure, rather than because he has too! Keep ’em coming!
– Lynn Pool, from “Diary of a Creeper King, Book 1

There are plenty of other reviews by parents thanking me for getting their kids engaged with reading, mixed in here and there with the book reviews written by my young readers. At the time of me writing this webpage, I’ve published over 70 individual Skeleton Steve titles, so there’s plenty of quality, wholesome content for your child available.

Please check out the books that interest you or might interest your kids. My most popular series is ‘The Noob Years‘. All of my individual titles are available in paperback with moderately large fonts so that they’re not intimidating to younger readers, and most series also have ‘box sets‘ containing multiple books sold for a good deal. The box sets’ paperback versions are more condensed and the size of a full adult novel! And if you’re in Kindle Unlimited, you’ll be able to read my entire catalog for free!
