At long last, it’s Slinger 3!

Hey, everybody! Here’s another one, and man, it’s a big one! This Slinger series has been a fun challenge to write, because not only is it going over Slinger’s backstory, but it’s also tying up a lot of different series together from an outside perspective and leading to … something pretty epic! Do you feel it? Can you feel something big coming…? 😀

These last few years, ever since after the Covid stuff, have been really busy and crazy for me and my writing career. I’ve had to spread myself thin across different work, and my books have slowed down a lot. I know it. You’ve mentioned it. And I’m always trying to put more time into Skeleton Steve and get back to where I was before. Thanks for sticking with me! As we wrap up this Slinger Series and the Noob Years 6^th Season, and start going into the new Skonathan series, I know you won’t regret still being a fan and reading my books! The Trail of Troubled Bones takes Slinger, Sir Zebulon (the zombie knight with impeccable manners), and Elias (the ninja who teleports into your personal space like it’s a hobby) across the western wastes—where whispers of Skeleton Steve drift like dust in the wind. Everyone they meet seems to know the skeleton’s name, but no one can agree on whether he’s a hero, a curse, or a ghost. Which, honestly, feels about right.

The chaos ramps up when Worla the Witch reenters the picture. I won’t spoil much, but let’s just say if lies were potions, she’d have enough to fill an ocean monument. Between her manipulation, the spreading Glitch, and the Steve’s increasingly mysterious behavior, Slinger’s web of alliances starts to look like—well, a web on fire.

And that’s what I love about this book. It’s messy. It’s tangled. It’s alive. Slinger’s voice cuts through all the noise—a creature of instinct and intuition, trying to make sense of loyalty and destiny in a world that keeps changing shape. It’s also got more heart than you’d expect from an eight-legged mob with a crossbow problem.

But tracking him down proves to be a lot more difficult than they thought it would be, even though so many mobs they encounter are familiar with their long-lost friend!

And on top of the growing Glitch problem starting to spill into the surface world, there seems to be something really suspicious going on with Skeleton Steve being manipulated and used for diabolic purposes by the wicked Worla the witch. After dealing with the witch’s lies, an uncooperative Steve, and strongholds full of hostile mobs, will Slinger and his friends be able to find Skeleton Steve before something awful happens to him?
