Even if that “way” involves crawling through a cursed mineshaft full of monsters, cobwebs, and bad decisions.

Writing the Lost Mine scenes felt like building a living dungeon: shafts twisting like veins, creaking wooden supports, echoes that might not be echoes. Ru’s bravery really shines here. He’s no longer the kid swinging a sword in secret—he’s a leader now, with Jack, Bindr, and the eternally sassy Smudge the Ocelot at his back. And beneath all the mining dust and danger, there’s still hope gleaming faintly—like a gold vein waiting to be found.
