This book kicked off one of my favorite side stories in the Minecraft diary series because it shows what happens when the peace of village life suddenly breaks—and one brave kid has to decide who he really is. Writing Ru’s first steps into danger, surrounded by mobs that won’t stop attacking, reminded me a lot of that moment every player faces: when you realize the world isn’t as safe as you thought, but you’re going to grab your sword anyway.
